GREETINGS FROM JUDITH CURRY WELLINGTON ARCHDIOCESE:
Some highlights from our council meeting on 14th July. We opened with a Mass at the Home Of Compassion Chapel with a Mass for Geraldine and Noeleen  and asked members from near branches to attend, in all we had about 40 people, many who had worked with them over time, gave them a cup of tea, then down to work. With 2 overseas 2 on sick list our numbers were down, but please to have a report that Jacquie Gilligan is back at home, still can’t talk but better in her self, so we will keep up the prayers that she will get her voice back soon. Bookings have been made for our 2008 archdiocesan conference at the Angus Hotel Lower Hutt and the Archbishop has agreed to say the Saturday mass. We are looking into the cost of a bus to take members to Hamilton National Conference, as so many of our elder members don’t drive and being winter don’t like the roads at that time of year. When we have cost will go out looking to trusts for financial help to pay for it. The At Home appeal was good choice and some branches have plans in hand to start fund raising, they are keen to be top fund raising dioceses again. Our Chaplin Sister Mary Gordon is busy giving days of recollection to branches and talks on her work in Peru. Paraparaumu branch has 60th year birthday lunch planed for October and Nelson hosts a regional day in September.
