Christchurch Diocese

GREETINGS FROM JENNY MUSCHAMP CHRISTCHURCH DIOCESE:
Conference 2007 was hosted by Region 4 under the back drop of Mouth Hutt in the beautiful country town of Methven. 130 members attended. The hospitality from these members was superb. The speakers all had different aspects of the theme. The youth team also talked about the Pope’s visit next year in Sydney and the Cross and Icon visit in New Zealand. A collection was taken up for Gizo and $1060.50 was raised. Lorraine Doyle finished her term as President and Jenny Muschamp (myself) is the new President.
Diocesan Welfare Council held an Expo and Debate at St. Bede’s at which we were asked to hold a stall. Bishop John Cuneen retired in May and we wish him well in his retirement. We welcome Bishop Barry Jones and look forward to working with him.
Members have been busy knitting for prem babies and the hospitals are very grateful for these lovely garments. Knitted goods have also been sent to Street Out Reach - the City Mission organises this with other Churches. These goods are always appreciated.
