HAMILTON DIOCESE
Welcome to Hamilton Diocesan Catholic Women’s League. I am Maureen Russell and I was elected to the position of Diocesan President at our Annual General Meeting in May 2010.
Hamilton CWL began life in 1980 when the Diocese of Hamilton was founded. Our first President was the late Geraldine Scott. At present we have 431 members in 21 branches. These branches are, in alphabetical order, Cambridge, Cathedral, Edgecumbe-Matata, Fairfield, Frankton, Gisborne, Matamata, Morrinsville, Mt Maunganui, Ohaupo, Paeroa, Rotorua, Taumarunui, Tauranga, Te Aroha, Te Awamutu, Te Puke, Tokoroa, Turangi, Waihi, and Whakatane. Our branches are divided into 4 regions – North, South, Central and East.
Members are involved in all aspects of the League, living out their commitment of “Faith and Service” both within their parishes and in the wider community.
The League is open to all women and we welcome members from anywhere in the Diocese. Should you live in a remote location or in a parish that does not have a League branch. your nearest branch would welcome your membership and keep you informed of all the League activities.
If you would like any further information please contact me by email.
May God Bless you,
Maureen Russell
